Google AnalyticsGoogle Analytics is a tool that allows you to track the number of visitors to your website, their behaviour, the source of the traffic and more. This gives the website owner and/or the SEO manager of the website a great insight on which parts of the website are getting more attention, and which parts need to be improved, and where the traffic/leads are coming from.

Our BRIXWORK Real Estate Websites come with the ability to easily install the Google Analytics tracking code on your website, and here's how.

1. Create an account, if you don't have one already!

Visit the Google Analytics website, and create a new account. We recommend using your own personal domain email ([email protected]) or a personal @gmail.com account. Do not use brokerage emails such as [email protected] since this is an asset that will be yours regardless of brokerage changes.

Google provides easy instructions! Check out this Analytics setup manual which contains useful tutorials for basic setups.

Already have A Google Analytics Account?

If you are upgrading to a Brixwork website from another provider, you may already have an Google Analytics account. You can skip forward to Step 2 - simply enter your tracking ID. It looks like G-XXXXXXX if you have already upgraded to GA4, or UA-XXXXXXX if you're on the legacy Universal Analytics.

Upgrading from Universal Analytics (version 3) to GA4 (version 4)

The Brixwork Real Estate Website system supports Google's GA4 Analytics since 2021. The above step-by-step video covers how to upgrade your Universal Analytics to GA4, which you must do IMMEDIATELY if you haven't done it by July 2023!

You do not need to create a new profile - all data will be preserved as you upgrade for better data & insight.

Important notes for creating your Google Analytics account:

  • Choose "WEB" for the property type (we provide websites, not iOS or Android Apps).
  • Ensure to select https:// (not http://) in the dropdown, unless you still have an unsecured non-SSL'd website from before 2017. In this case we highly recommend adding SSL to your website now, as it affects Google rankings now.
  • Turn on "Enhanced measurement" - it even measures scroll behaviour on multi-sectioned storytelling webpages that are long, top-to-bottom!
  • This is a service account you own, provided to business owners at no cost, by Googleâ„¢. Brixwork does NOT provide support for creating, managing and analyzing the traffic unless you are subscribed to our dedicated SEO services for real estate.
  • Brixwork's services reach as far as maintaining the back-end to integrate this tracker on all front-end pages - the next step shows you how!

Obtain the Measurement ID (Tracking ID) Of Your Website
