The excerpt field of a page is very important. It helps your clients get a quick idea of what a page is about before opening it. This saves time if they are looking for something specific and can hook their interest making them want to read more.
To set this feature up, all you need to do is click on "edit" on the page that you want an excerpt for, for example your "About" page. Or, as pictured below, a Communities page - In this case "Kitsilano".
Under the text box where you input your main text content, there is another box entitled "Short Excerpt."
There, you can write a short sentence or two that summarizes the content of the page.
When you are finished, don't forget to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page. Then, once you have done that, the excerpt will appear accordingly to the section you edited! Please be aware that not every section counts with this excerpt feature.
